Logging

Practice Hour Logging

Record practice hours by category, choose detailed or summary mode.

What are practice hours?

Practice hours track the time you spend in professional practice. They are split into two categories:

  • Direct client contact — face-to-face or telehealth sessions with clients.
  • Client-related activities — report writing, case formulation, case conferences, referral management.

Together, these two categories make up your general psychological practice hours.

Entry modes

Thothly supports two ways to log practice hours:

  • Detailed mode — one entry per session with a specific date and duration (max 24 hours).
  • Summary mode — a date range and total hours for a period (e.g. a whole week or month). This is useful when logging in bulk.

Your programme’s practice tracking mode setting determines which mode is available.

Placement stage

If your programme uses placement stages, you can tag each entry as First placement or Subsequent placement. This helps track progression across different practice settings.

Monitoring totals

Your dashboard chart and programme progress bars update in real-time as you add entries. If your programme defines targets for specific categories (e.g. direct client hours per year), these are tracked separately.
